sadasiva Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I am offering a fairly modest number of products. Three categories - about 10 products total how do i make the descriptions and attributes on the product ID pages to be discplayed on the Category page OR how can i edit the listings on the catgory page to include the descriptions. Either way, this is a problem as i want to add a fairly heavy disclaimer at every purchase point. I do not have the need for all of these different points of purchase anyway. Simple category pages with full info is best. thanks Sam
ozEworks Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Not sure exactly what you mean but there is a contribution that lets you display part of the description on the product listing page - go look
sadasiva Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 thanks kym, what i mean is simple though - when you enter a "category" page.. fro the little box on the upper left -- it is different from the individual "product listing" pages -- the category pages lists the general things in that category, without the descriptions,, in the default store I would like the "catehory pages" to have the product listing info, rather than the extra (unnecessasry) click to the other individual pages Not sure exactly what you mean but there is a contribution that lets you display part of the description on the product listing page - go look <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ozEworks Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Still a little lost. If you click on a category that has subcategories you will see the subcategories. If you click on a category that just has products you will see the product listing. The default is one line per product with an Image, Product Name Price and Buy Now button. So if you want to also add descriptions here so people can decide whether to buy now or not rather than having to click on an individual product then you use that contribution I referred to. It won't have everything but it is a start for you.
Wendy James Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Actually I think that contribution lets you specify how many letters. I believe it is in the SQL file, or in part of the code but you should be able to find it. Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
sadasiva Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 Still a little lost.? If you click on a category that has subcategories you will see the subcategories.? " -- that is all.. It seems simple.. and strange that it is not just an option - that is defaults to a mantatory exra click link to the full product description page. ALSO - i am not sure which copntribution it is... I saw one that just gives an option for a ONE page store option,, which may also work,, I like the catgories i just don't need it to link to ANTOTHER page from there. UGH!,, always something!
