Guest
I just launched a new site powered by osCommerce for a company called Rodeo Cosmetics. I wanted to put it up here because I received a lot of help from these boards. I would be very interested in any feedback that anyone has about the site. The contributions installed in there are: Header Tags Contribution Authorize.net Consolidated Conditions & Privacy 2 Ultimate SEO Separate Price Per Customer All of them worked really well, with little or no problems during installation. Thanks again to everyone. Rodeo Cosmetics

Thanks again to everyone. Rodeo Cosmetics <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It looks really cool ! Gives the right feeling for the products you are selling ! However I did get Fatal error: Call to undefined function: generate_cart_id() in /home/rode/public_html/2005/includes/classes/shopping_cart.php on line 109 when I clicked Add to Cart from the product info page After that the Shopping Cart on your main page says Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_products() in /home/rode/public_html/2005/includes/boxes/shopping_cart.php on line 25 and nothing goes anymore. Only after clearing the session cookies I get the shop back. Also it looks like you use a self-signed SSL certificate. That generates a warning which might frighten a lot of your potential customers. hubcat
Right on the home page, I got this: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/rode/public_html/2005/includes/boxes/shopping_cart.php on line 98 It did put some content on the home page, but I'm sure I was missing more than I was seeing. Guest
Weirdest thing. The functions are defined. I am pulling the site from being live until I fix this. The url will be: http://www.rodeocosmetics.com/2005/ until I get it working again. When I look for those functions, they are defined. If I move the one it claims isn't defined up in the document, it finds it but not another one. Kept doing that until I was going in circles. Just a thought, but does that imply that one of the functions is being left open? I mean that it may be missing a curly brace at the end of it? Any other ideas on what that could be? Thanks
Guest
Not sure if this helps anyone with troubleshooting. There are two functions that are right next to each other in the document. Whichever of the two is on top reads fine, and the other isn't recognized. For example, right now the site says that "get_products()" is undefined. It is the function currently below one called calculate. If I move it above calculate, then it is found and the site says that "calculate()" is undefined. Strange one for me, but maybe someone here has an idea of what that means. Thanks again. The design is much sweeter when the footer and content are showing. :)

Did you have to make changes to the shopping cart class (which is the file with these functions) for one of your contributions (I am mostly thinking on SPPC) ? It is most likely you misplaced some code there and you should thoroughly check that file again. Best to take a fresh shopping_cart.php file and do the changes again. Guest
Alright, I replaced the shopping cart class file with a new one, and it appears to be working OK. However, I'd love for anyone with an interest to put it through it's paces to make sure that nothing else pops up. Thanks for your help.
Guest
Rodeo Cosmetics New Site I think everything is now working right. Word of advice, if you are planning on adding contributions, add them at the beginning. I had to add the SPPC contributions the day before our planned launch, and that caused some problems for me. My fault of course, but much more painful than if I would have known about it in the beginning. Another reason that thorough planning ahead is key before starting a project. Added a retail store finder as well, which is flash based: Retail Store Finder I'd love any feedback if anyone has the time.

The only remark I keep standing is to buy yourself a real SSL certificate and to not use a self-signed one like now which only pops up messages. Layout, buttons, font, color, graphics, merchandise etc., it's all matching on your site and I really like it all. If you did it all yourself you should start designing instead of selling rodeo cosmetics
Guest
Thanks a lot. Actually I am a designer, and I agree about the SSL. I am not the one that makes the decisions on that part, but I personally would have gone with a trusted one. How does that work? Browsers have a list of trusted SSL providers, and Thawte doesn't appear to be in that list. Does that change over time, like will they be added? I am interested in knowing since I see a lot of Thawte certs go by, and wonder how that "trusted" thing is worked out in browsers? Thanks again. wheeloftime
check out this post in the forum.... The SSL In OsCommerce Guide For The Innocent, SSL basics and how to apply to osC <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I decided after many readings for Commodo SSL. It's a chained one but covers older browser versions better as ie. FreeSSL plus is recognised by Opera and Macintosh browsers. The price is very right (149 euro for 2 years) compared to Thawte, Verisign and other more known brands. FreeSSL is cheaper but with much less coverage I would not recommend it.
