Collect from your nearest branch..

Heya,

 

I've posted this under other titles before, but I think maybe I'm coming at it the wrong way.

 

Most "highstreet" stores that also sell online give you the option of ollecting your items from your nearest branch, instead of getting it delivered to your home.

 

I've seen the "Multi Pickup" contrib and have played with it as detailed here:

but to be honest it's not really geared towards what I'm after.

 

To be an effective contrib it would need to be able to support a map/picklist/postode finder etc that would let the customer locate their local store easily.

 

To be ultra fancy it could look at the customer's postcode and compare, say, the first 2 digits with the post codes of the local branches, and decide whetehr or not to even offer the colletion as a shipping option based on that.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to approach this, or if it would even be feasible udner teh current OSC build?

 

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm thinking that because OSC is favoured by smaller enterprises, they mostly have only one outlet - so nobody else wants this feature! :P

 

Are there any freelance outfits who might be able to quote me for this type of setup? :)

Good lord that looks good - the perils of a poor search technique on my part I think!

 

Contrib is USA only though, so I'll have to look into moddability for UK codes - does look promising :)
