I want to make my site affective and effective. I know this community is concerned with the technical aspects of OSCommerce. But, can anyone direct me to a truly good source for web site development that makes people want to buy? I am getting 200-300 hits aday. This are qualified prospects for the most part. But I am getting only about 5 purchases a week. I"ve got to be more effective. So. if you know some where I can find an marketing community I would like to know about it.

I working on getting my old site(www.4sop.com) to my new, OSCommerce, site. But unless I can get better results it is not worth it.

David I personally wouldn?t buy from any site that didn?t have a clear privacy policy. I like to know how my details will be used.

 

Would you purchase from a site that might not keep your details secure?

Unless you inform customers that their details are secure they will assume otherwise.

Thanks, Sue, I didn't realize that our privacy policy wasn't visiable until a person as made a decision to buy. Then we describe why we use PayPal, etc. So that was a good suggestion. If you have any more I will be happy to see them.

I noticed that each page has the same title, it would improve your chances with search engines if each page had it's own unique title.

I would also suggest you check your about us page in a different browser because in Firefox I see this:

The use of a style sheet can easily solve these type of problems
