categorising image directory

hi,

 

i've managed to upload pictures for my products which automatically go into the '/catalog/images' folder but i want to be able to use these in categorised folders inside the 'images' folder.

 

can anybody help me please?

I managed to categorise my images in folders, however I think I went about it the long way.

 

I created folders and put the relevant images in them, then using ftp I uploaded them.

 

I then used easypopulate and in that I stated in which folder each image could be found.

 

I?m sure there?s an easier way and maybe someone will post it

I believe there are a couple of ways to do it.

1 I am not so sure about so won't mention it. :)

 

Another is using the WYSIWYG editer. It allows you to either upload images before hand in seperate folders or create the folders and upload the images while entering products. Plus it does some cool other things.

if you dont want all the stuff that comes with the WYSIWYG editer.

This works well but I had one of the thumbnail contributions installed on a site and just could not get the two to work together.
