installation problem

Hello folks,

I am trying to install osCom for the first time and after a lot of ticking around i uploaded onto the server and got this message

 

1146 - Table 'db_name.configuration' doesn't exist

 

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

 

[TEP STOP]

 

the db_name does exist

 

I have set the config files in both admin/includes and catalog/includes , the permissions have been set to 777 and am not sure what the prob is.

 

I am using osCom on Windows XP running Apache2, php v5.0.4 and MySQL 4.1.7

 

also when i go to run /catalog/install/ I just get the directory opening in the browser
