jackrabbit Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I am getting an error on my index page saying that my config file is writeable even though I have set the permissions on the file to 644. Is that not right? I have tried to set it to 444 but it literally will not "stick" when I double check the permissions have been reset to 444. I have contacted my hoster but they say that if the permissions are set to 444 the file will not run. My brain is in a knot. Please advise.
jackrabbit Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 After wrangling with my hoster I found out that a recent change in their security had disallowed any ftp clients from changing permissions to 444. I had to change the permissions through their web based control panel. Just in case anyone else runs into this problem.
