3rd Party Merchant doing own Cart Customization

Hey All,

I use EditPlus for my customization of shopping carts - it works very nicely, allows me to do what I want with what I have and is very stress-free. My department is hosting a merchant's account in which their website and shopping cart (which is run through osCommerce) is done by a 3rd party belonging to neither us, or the Merchant. This 3rd party uses Dreamweaver to create her websites and is wondering if it is possible to use Dreamweaver to store the files and customize their shopping cart with, so it doesn't look as stock as it would if she just let it alone and now customize at all.

When she asked me, I wasn't sure - having never had the displeasure of using Dreamweaver for anything more than a manditory semester in college (I taught myself HTML the old school way with notepad and now I use Edit Plus for PHP and HTML) so Im not sure if using Dreamweaver is possible. For note, http://www.maumbachelcandle.com is the website and the 3rd party who administrates that site's layout uses Dreamwaver..

Is this possible? Thanks All.

I presume that the question is, "can you use DW to edit osCommerce?"

Yes, it works, the testing server function is kinda sketchy, but it will get the job done. You have to be careful to not let it write it's own classes and such...it's good for going off on its own.

Consider using RapidPHP, this is an all in one solution that is the best I've used.

Maybe Adobe will tighten DW up some, cause right now it's like web express with a big hood ornament! :-"

Hey thanks alot, yeah Im not a big fan of DreamWeaver because of little problems it has known to have, plus - for me it's an insult because it eliminates any hard coding for the novice user to learn (Im sorry but when I teach myself HTML with notepad and then in college see that DreamWeaver has this function where you can use a taget icon to link pages together instead of coding it - is a slap in the face to me, sure it's easy - but it eliminates the fun) but yeah I'll make sure they know that.

If I were doing the heavy lifting I'd continue using EditPlus, that system is good - but Im just supervising this person's progress, so it's their call.

Thanks Again
