Guest Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Hi everyone! I would like to add a "people who bought this product also bought these products" box to my shop. Unfortunately, I am a bit of a newbie with osCommerce and havent found anything helpful in the documentation. My idea is to log what everyone buys and then create link tables for the products, but if i do that, I'd soon have 1000 tables or so in my database and I wanted to know if there wasn't some feature in osCOmmerce I havent found yet that permits me to do much the same. I really like the Amazon idea (if they had the idea) and use it frequently myself when I shop on their website, I hope you all know what I mean and can help me out please! Thanks in advance :)

How would you call such a feature? thx for your reply!
Beer Monster Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Erm, isn't that a stock feature?? Light, in the absence of eyes, illuminates nothing.

Beer Monster Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 what exactly do you mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I mean oscommerce comes with an also purchased module! The following contrubutions can be used to enhance it.... http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2036 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1968 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2798 Light, in the absence of eyes, illuminates nothing.
Guest Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 thanx, I didn't see it anywhere in the documentation so I thought I had to code it myself :) I am a little confused though, what does this mean? includes/modules/also_purchased_products to show all the products purchased by a certain customer and not by order What I have in mind is not customer related but product related, did I understand something wrong here or do they mean something completely different?

(hope that makes sense). I can't see why you'd want to do that but obviously someone found it important enough to contribute a modification!! Light, in the absence of eyes, illuminates nothing.
Beer Monster Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 danke, macht viel mehr sinn! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sie Sind Willkommen! (I hope that's right, used babelfish!) Light, in the absence of eyes, illuminates nothing.
