add a special payment type

Hi,

 

I would like to add a special payment type but only for one product in the catalog, and only if there is one item in the cart, this special product.

 

I have been romping through the payment class and checkout_payment.php, butnot sure where I would need to make the changes. Of course, this payment type must not be visible for customers with more than 1 item or 1 item that is not this product.

 

I was thinking I would not need to add a new payment method to modules, just display a text instead in the file and somhow still enter info into the order table of course. Really not sure where to start.

 

Any ideas?

hmmmmmmm ... or maybe I would need to add a new payment module that makes the selection to show or hide in the module, like the payment zones ... somehow that sound like the best idea right now, but how would all the other modules know to hide? I can only imagine they would all need to be changed.
