Insured Shipping

Recommended Posts

There's a school of thought which thinks insurance should not be optional, just build it into the price of shipping.

When you think about it, insurance protects you, the merchant, not the buyer. If the buyer claims they never received a package without insurance you're screwed, how can you really prove they received it, or received it undamaged? If it's insured the buyer must deal with the shipper to prove the package never arrived or arrived damaged.

In my business most suppliers automatically insure shipments, it's not optional.

It's actually cheap protection for you.

Try Shipping Insurance 2.01 contrib.

Good luck!

Hi Irina,

I remember you had a problem with Shipping Insurance 1.0 that the insurance amount cannot be included in Paypal or Authorize.net's checkout page (I cannot recall exactly...) I have the exact same problem to have the insurance amount included in the total amount in Paypal checkout page. (I use the latest oscommerce Paypal IPN contribution)

Have you got any solutions for it yet? And, with Shipping Insurance v2.0x installed, do you still have the same problem?

Thanks for your help!
