Case of the Disappearing Modules

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I took a quick look at the search but I couldn't find anything that matches this situation that was actually answered.

My modules have gone MIA. I'm not exactly sure why, but we got alerted to it when we discovered that a customer had put their order through without putting in their credit card number. Lo and behold, they are all gone on the admin side of things. I'm not sure why, I mean, I haven't touched the place for a couple of weeks. The admin panel simply does not show any modules at all, even though the path is correct (I double-checked the paths by SSHing into my server and simply copying+pasting).

I haven't made any modifications to these modules and I'm wondering why nothing is working all of a sudden. They had been working fine when I was developing the store, but it seems that they all decided to simeltaneously die at the same time. Lovely.

Could anyone please shine some light on this issue for me? Thanks.

Bump again... if you know anything of what could be causing this problem, please contribute. We cannot accept new orders until this problem is resolved. Thanks :)

i had the same problem when we re-installed & used the backed up .sql database, go to each mod. & select remove, as details showed inputed but the selected list was blank. then right after simply install each mod you want to use fill in the details & problem solved. i found i can't view new orders they show as pndg. on the main page but the order history & orders screen shows no new ones only old one delivered prior to the backup.. any suggestions on this?

thanks & hope this helps..

I resolved this problem by disvovering that safe mode was enabled on the site -- I discovered that it was the culprit when trying to manually add modules (as in, add the name of the module to the URL of the "install" link). So I have been able to solve the problem by matching the UID of the owner of the modules files to the UID that Apache runs under. Problem solved.
