Hi :'(

I've just installed osCommerce on my website and although the Catalog seems to

work, the admin part doesn't.

When I try to go the admin/index.php, I get an error message that says :

"Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/.sites/50/site215/web/catalog/blackbook/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!"

What does that mean? I think I've put the right DB login infos when installing osCommerce...

Thanks for your help!!!

Several possible reasons, judging by the error provided:

1. You have SSL enabled but don't have any ssl.

2. You have use_pconnect enabled when your hosting company does not allow the use of persistent connections.

Check includes/configure.php settings against those in admin/includes/configure.php

Thanks for the quick reply

I've just checked the 2 configure.php files you mentioned and it appears

that SSL and use_pconnect are all disabled in both files... :(

But now I wonder... Do I need to write down my database login informations

in the configure files, even if I gave them alreaady when installing osCommerce?
