switching from windows based hosting to fedora

ok, I started out using apache for windows, and now i'm using linux so that I can have SSL support. (don't use windows apache if you need ssl!!!!) so now i got the server functioning properly,(i think!!) but OSC is doing strange things. I imported my database from mysql(windows) to mysql(linux). however, when i go into the store, i can see the catagories ok, and some of the products appear in the "whats new" area. But when i click on them they come up as "product not found".

 

also, when I click on a catagory, it will not change screens in the middle part of the screen, the welcome screen remains. I'm not very familiar with the OSC internal workings though I am learning from persistantly trying to sort this out.

 

Anyone with some suggestions or knowledge of what might be happening? ;) ;)

Double check that all of the settings both configure.php are correct under the new server.

 

catalog/includes/

catalog/admin/includes/

 

Also, the import via mysql from windows to linux may have not gone 100%.

 

Can you use the admin backup feature of oscommerce on your windows server, creating all of the SQL to re-build via standard SQL to your new linux server?

I suppose I could, however, when I try to do a new install of OSC in linux, it will not let me past the screen where it asks you if you want to import sample data... the continue button just reloads the screen... therefore, i'm wondering if i have something setup wrong in my server settings. I think my problem may be multiple issues rather than one.... if anyone can possibly give me some assistance using MSN messenger or something it would be great.
