tenaki
Hi is https slower than http on a shared server. The reason I ask is I installed osCommerce on https (In hindsight http would have been fine) and the site seems slower than areas that are on http
AlanR
ssl is slower on any server than a standard http connection. There are other disadvantages to running your store that way as well. Just change define('HTTP_SERVER', ''); in the configure.php file to your http address. Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
MarcoZorro
Hi is https slower than http on a shared server. Of course https is slower than http :D Consider the extra workload the server needs to do whilst encrypting all of the page contents and then sending these to the client. ;)
