Guest Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Hi  Ive come accross quite a few contributions that I would like to use. But most of them ask me to run the .sql file in the folder "Sql" of this file to apply SQL changes to my database. I have no idea how to do this. I normally just use ftp to change files etc. Im not sure if I have access anything to run this sql. I can not see the program PHPMyAdmin anywhere I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me where to look or what to do to use these contributions. Really appreciate all help. Thanks Electra Sales
Wendy James Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 You have to have access to something to run the sql. It is your database. How you connect to it all depends on your host. I think cpanel (and many other hosts with control panels) just has a link to click on to go to your databases then you click on the database name or phpmyadmin. I forget which, then it should open a window with your database in it. Then you click on SQL then you can copy and paste the code on the SQL file with the contribution into the box there and click go. Other people have to connect to their database via a web address. You should know which you use because you had to set up your database to begin with. Hope that made sense and good luck. :) Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Guest Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005  Thanks Wendy, But I still dont have a clue. My database was all set up fo me so I dont know how it was done to start with. I have emailed my host and wait to see if they can tell me. Thanks again wendy for taking the time. Can anyone else can help or give suggestions??? Thanks
Wendy James Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 You should just check your web hosts control panel. There has to be an area there dealing with the databases... if they are a decent host. Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
