Paypal Order dissapears

When processing a paypal order, everything seems to go through ok the cart forwards to paypal, the payment arrives at the shop, but when exiting paypal, you are returned to the shop, not logged in & the order does not process in os commerce, it doesnt seem to exist any ideas?

I have the same problem. Some orders show up and send me a order email, others do not. And my customers are creating the accounts.

Are you using PayPal IPN v1.1?

 

Also in my situation I notice that the basket is not cleared and the order is not added to the orders table

Thats correct the items stay in the shopping basket & the order is not added to the orders table.

I've been suffering this too. Sometimes orders are created via Paypal, sometimes not.

I suspect that sometimes it may be due to the session timing out before the transaction completes on Paypal. I have just changed session.php and extended the $SESS_LIFE time. I now have the client on the lookout for any more unmatched Paypal orders. So far so good, but it has only been 24 hours since installing the change. This might hold the key.
