volpaz.com Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Just wondering what everyone thinks, be VERY honest!!!! Volpaz.com
osfalcon Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 can you tell me how you got the swf to work on your site. I tried everything on the forum but still get the blank box with a red x? Thank you in advance scott of: onchrome.com
osfalcon Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 nicest oscommerce site I have seen yet. I may be one sided cuz I'm into the car scene too. Scott of: onchrome.com
radders Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 The overall look is good although personally I could do without the flash movie (but then I'm not in the market for a sports car so what do I know). The thing that needs fixing is the distorted images -you must install an image contribution.
jonyo Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 just from a quick look- overall looks very professionally done. -Images need to be scaled down w/ a good image program like Gimp or Photoshop, or if you are lazy (or have a ton of images) a good image contrib. When they are big and you let the browser scale them down, you get crummy looking pics. -I don't have flash, and neither do a lot of other people. In other peoples case it's cuz they don't know how, or they don't like it, or they have a really old computer. [rant]In my case, it's cuz I am running on a 64 bit machine, running a 64 bit OS, and macromedia hasn't had the forsight yet to make flash compatible on 64 bit computers.[/rant] sorry for the ranting... Point: make it so that people that don't have flash don't see an ugly box at the top of your website. Comcast.net for example has done this, used to be if you didn't have flash their site was all messed up looking, they finally wizened up and now if you don't have flash, it still looks nice. it just has a little blurb at the top that says they recomend you get it... Check all your images, I found a few broken ones when I was browsing. Great job, I like the general layout and feel of it
julia Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Nice site. I like the background. The flash is well done, but I think a bit overdone..does that make sense? Too much sensory overload . I would get rid of that on that page. I would also get rid of the "Let's See What We Have Here" line on the product pages. It looks great though. Julie
Guest Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 I cant stand flash intros that take ages to load and take up half the screen. Too much screen real estate to waste. :)

♥monte22 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Your SSL cert is not valid...prob because you have not installed the root authority on your server.
Mediajuggle Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I like it... but in the flash movie.. the LOGO takes too long to appear.... this should be the FIRST thing that appears... then the rest of the movie should come in... ♥monte22 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Your infobox headers do not appear correctly in Safari 2.0. They revert back to the original class (light blue), but the corners are the new (dark blue) style. Firefox everything lookgs ok. Might want to make sure you dont have redundant tage.
Guest Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 ugh the flash header ..... sorry but it's 'too much'. If you really want to have the flash somewhere, put it down the side or something. It is distracting. Also the font you have used for the text in the middle - the big red and blue in times roman - looks out of place with the rest of the site. Maybe make it the same font as the rest of the site and maybe instead of using primary red and blue, you could make them more tonal colors?? anyway, looks good on the whole, best of luck.
♥monte22 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 How has business been going for you? Have you been getting more sales from the new site versus the old one? I am also in the custom auto industry, and am always curious as to how other osc users are doing. btw...your site still displays incorrectly in Safari 2.0. Categories menu is not visible, and infobox formatting does not match the rest of the site. James
Chance Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I think you need to reduce the header size by about 50%, and make it static instead of flash. Man, I hate flash headers.
