What are your settings for download after purchase

Hey Everyone,

 

What do you all use for your download settings to make that option work effectively? Right now I have the following settings:

 

catalog/download/ - set to 777

catalog/pub/ - set to 777

catalog/download - set to 755 (if I set to 777 I get a 500 internal server error)

 

After a customer purchases a product from my site, they go to "My Account" and they are able to download their product. When they click on the link they get the following error:

 

Not Found

The requested URL /catalog/pub/.ofiymdvewmobuxtg/name_of_file.zip was not found on this server.

 

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

 

What is the deal with that, does anyone know what is up with the (.ofiymdvewmobuxtg). What is happening. Someone please help.

 

Also, let me just add that I've done an enormous amount of research on this. I haven't had any luck with any of these changes.

are you using the download controller contribution? If not you should be.

then set the order status in the download controller and in whatever payment module you're using
