JonathanH Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I'm trying to increase my site's ranking on the search engines. Should the following strategy help? Say my site is xyz.com. I would create a subdomain categorya.xyz.com and categoryb.xyz.com These would be one page sites loaded with good content for categories a and b respectively. I would put an auto redirect on those pages to my main site, where the products for those categories would be listed. Could I submit all 3 sites for crawling? Would the links from categorya.xyz.com to xyz.com help? Is this a waste of time? or would it be seen as a blackhat attempt? Thanks. Just learning OSC, but loving it so far.
Jack_mcs Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 It's pretty much a waste of time. If you can put those other sites on a different server, it would help. But then it would only help with backlinks (PR) which is not that important so the gain would not be worth the effort. If you spend your time on optiomizing the pages on your site, it will do you more good.
