Dolcev
Never used an SQL database but a client wants me to use his existing system. Can osCommerce run on an SQL database? and if so what potential problems should I look out for? Thanks!

MarcoZorro
Depends on the question.... SQL is a standard interactive and programming language for getting information from and updating a database. Never used an SQL database but a client wants me to use his existing system. Can osCommerce run on an SQL database? and if so what potential problems should I look out for? The answer to this is if you mean any SQL database then the answer is Yes... It uses MySQL. If you mean does it run on MSSQL PostgreSQL Oracle [insert Name of DB System Here] Then no... but it can with some work on reworking the db layer etc.
