PayPal misses item details

I'm using the basic PayPal module that come with OSC, not PayPal IPN.


My cart accepts PayPal transactions fine, but there are two problems:


1) The item details do not show up on PayPal's transaction records (for example, if I login to PayPal and choose to create a packing slip, the item and description both display "n/a", EDIT - quantity also always shows 1, even with multiple items...)


2) About 1 out of 5 PayPal transactions does not show up in OSC (under customers > orders, etc.). I've read that Auto-Return in my PayPal settings may have something to do with this.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
