lauren4521 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Does anyone know how to make the specials.php box permanent (and show "there are currently no specials") just like the review box ? As it is now, the specials box disappears when there's no specials. Thanks (and I've searched the knowledge base, contributions and forums with no luck on this). Lauren
brewbeer Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 it would be a complex change. There is a file in includes/boxes/specials.php that has code for the box setup. Bsaically it checks the specials database query and displays specials if present. it will need a check on if there was a record for the random_product. if it is false or has no specials use a new infobox text for no products. It requires code. if you are familiar with php, then hopefully that will help a bit. "Chooca ma blah blah"

I'm just a php cutter/paster so I really can't get into recoding right now (hopefully will have time to learn soon). I think my long way around it for now is to do the separate styles for boxes thang and then create my own box using my stylesheet. I don't care so much if the box is empty but I need the infoboxheading and border to reserve the space. Lauren
brewbeer Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 also you can try just making a product that is called no specials with 0 cost and place it in a directory that is y.our least surfed. just turn it on when you have no specials. heck even put a sad face for the product image! nocoding only maintenence and to see if it works for your company "Chooca ma blah blah"

Thanks! I still have a LONG way to go with this cart (new to osCommerce and winging my way through) but you can look at it here; http://www.boopababy.com/ And I have to remove the xhtml validate button as it no longer validates with the addons. :( thanks again...I may just leave this for now since I have so much else to work on. NOT looking forward to adding CC&GV to an already modified shop. Lauren
