Help getting started

Hi,

I am completely new to this product, it was recommended to me by WorldPay.

The installation instructions tell me to load folders onto my webserver. My online shop is not up and running yet, hence why I'm trying to install this software :-). But, I do have a 'coming soon' page as my homepage. I don't want to change this until my website is ready to go (there is nothing worse than finding a website that doesn't work properly).

So, can I install and set this up on the harddisk of my notebook? If so, how do I go about getting Internet Explorer to look at my harddisk rather than the internet?

I have tried saving the catalog and admin folders in the equivalent place on my notebook. But I cannot get Internet Explorer to open the install screen. I'm hoping that it is because I'm doing it wring rather than it can't be done.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Thanks, Louise

Hi there,

You can use a program called Easyphp to run OScommerce on your local PC, this gives you all the features you need such as phpMyAdmin control panel for your database etc.

Its in french but there is files you can download to change it to english, I just cant remember the link to it. If you do a search in this forum you might find the answer.

hope this helps
