Guest Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 This might be a dumb question, but someone has to ask it why not me. LOL There is a statement for adding product url Products URL: [ Text Box] If I were to incorporate my current html store into osc through this product url would it be all html based? or would it have to be in PHP format? I currently have a shopping cart store in which is very easy to update and processes all the data information to paypal, such as shipping address, Product name and all the variables. If importing to OSC this way is it still possible to store the collected order information into osc?
Guest Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 You can link to any web page from there. It will not convert anything, it will not import your products to osc. osc will be php, your current site will be whatever it is.
Guest Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Your osCommerce cart keeps a record of your customer details, and order history. If you already use paypal, the transition will be smooth, and you will have even more information. If your having trouble letting go of your html site, there is no reason you cant keep your site, and use osCommerce as a supplemental shopping area.

I am selling hats and tshirts and possibly bumperstickers for our team website. We also plan to sell dart supplies very soon. So when I pass the variables such Cap selction (Black, White) Shirt Color Black or White) Shirt Size (S,M,L,XL,XXL) only two variables get passed to paypal and in the sopping cart I use all the variables are passed as the product name. and at least we have a complete record in paypal of the full order and we can ship it through our paypal account. If I could figure out a way to pass the variables from osc products and add them to the product name it would pass through to paypal in the product name I believe I could have the wrong assumption totally. Thanks for your replies. And thanks for giving me a better understanding.
