I read the "Quick Install Guide" and at step 4, I don't know where to go to set permissions :'( .

I'm working on a Mac and my ftp program is cute FTP.

I saw on a tutorial video that the permission is set on the ftp program by clicking the file configure.php. But I'm not able to access the menu CHMOD so I can't change the File Attributes.

you right click on the file and should be able to set permissions

I try this too but when I do that, I don't obtain the menu where CHMOD appears.

I think I try to download the file on my computer desk, click on it and go to File Menu and Read info. There, I see that I can change autorisation for not just Reading but reading and writing. After that, I will upload the file. Is it ok ?

P.S. Excuse my english ... it's not my first language.

Go to http://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/index.shtml

Download the demo, it'll run for 30 days. It will let you set permissions, edit files on the server and lots more. It's worth the price to buy it, you would not regret it.

Thanks Alan ! I think it's ok. I set permissions to Read, Write and Excute. Now I have to find the IP-address of the database server ! I will write to my provider for that.

It's a new world for me ! ;-)
