dm18k Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Is there a way to display a size: to prouduct_listing.php? (catalog/includes/modules/) Like adding a field in admin section. You have: Product Manufacture: Product: Name: Product Price: Why not? Size: I have a vitamin page. With different sizes 100 Tabs, 100 Caps, 100 Vcaps, ect. I would like this to be displayed on Product Listing if possible. I just use my Product Name with the sizes for now. Is there a better way?
Guest Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 To take best advantage of the database and search... Consider each variation of product (in your case and some of myown) as a separate product. List size in the name (ie. product_name_+ 100 Caps, or +100 Tabs, or +100 Vcaps Searches will not reliably find otherwise. -maybe the wheel needs reinventing ...maybe not Your milage may vary. /my $.02 Is there a way to display a size: to prouduct_listing.php? dm18k Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Im not worried about Search, Would just like a simple display of size with the product name... Example: Wouldn't it be nice to have a Size: Listed there? Our even a suggested retail price. I am just trying to make it easier to shop. Pretty sure everyone knows what I am talking about. You know what products you want, you just want to select the right one add to cart and check out. Only Time I would ever look at a product is if I didn't know what it was. I think adding Size: and SRP: to Product_List would make it nice for the quick shoppers. Thanks for you $.02

Thanks for you $.02  <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This would be very helpful for the site I've taken over from another developer. It is a fragrance/cosmetic site. I'm working on methods to better organize and display the products and have been making many changes. I really would like this info to be displayed. Currently I've modified the product to include the size to accomplish this. I'm also looking for away to have the "Subcategories Display their product listing when a customer clicks on the main category: Example - When the customer views the category "Adidas" I would like the subcategories to appear, which might be: Fragrance, Bath & Body and Skin Care, in that same screen without having to click on the subcategory to view the products listed under the subcategory, have them listed just under the subcategory header. I've seen this done on several sites (not osc) but I'm not sure even where to begin to modify the category/subcategory display to make this happen. It would look something like this when you click on the main category in the menu: ADIDAS Dynamic Plus (Main category) (image here) Category description Here - Then the subcategories w/products would display below Fragrances Item # Description Retail Price Our Price Buy Now 135227 EDT SPRAY 1.7 OZ $27.50 $14.03 128803 EDT SPRAY 3.4 OZ $27.50 $13.89 Bath & Body Item # Description Retail Price Our Price Buy Now 133146 DEOD. SPRAY 5 OZ $18.00 $7.29 Gift Sets Item # Description Retail Price Our Price Buy Now 133302 AFTRSHAV/DEOD. STK $14.95 $12.79 Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start to accomplish this? Thanks in advance
