Marc_J Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 For stores that sell multiple (sometimes hundres or thousands) of similar items all at the same price. Say, for example, a store sells T-shirts, Mugs, and Mousepads. T-Shirts = $10 Mugs = $12.50 Mousepads = $15 Each category could potentially have thousands of products, but all at the same price. A good contrib (or standard addition!), would give the opportunity to enter prices at a category level. If price is left blank when entering a new product, the category price applies. If a price is entered, this overrides the category price (giving the option to have the odd 'variation to the rule' more expensive or cheaper item). The pricing structure would apply all the way up the category tree - the price on the lowest branch (i.e. nearest the product) always applies when the product doesn't have a price entered for it. If this has already been done - I can't find it in the contribs! I did find Update Price per Category which seems to do half of what I want (doesn't allow for exceptions) in a roundabout way. The documentation is in english the working contrib isn't, but I think I'm correct.
