Cowzor Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 As the topic says, how do you make use of .htaccess and .htpasswd From this post http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...31entry671631 I've gathered that You need to add a .htaccess file, that reads a username/password from .htpasswd (or similar) However I'm not sure what needs to be in the .htaccess file, or in the .htpasswd file Are there any examples out there? At the moment I'm having to remove all read/write/execute permissions from my folders when I'm not working on the site incase someone malicious derails it, however this isn't a permanent solution as it also leaves oscommerce unusable! Any help appreciated! :o
Jack_mcs Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Many hosts have the ability to set this from the CPanel. That is easier to use than creating your own files.
