linder60
Hi All, Good morning or evening wherever you are. I just have two basic Froogle questions that I was wondering about. First off, when you upload products to Froogle is each product listed considered a link back to your site ?? And second, if I uploaded a feed and then a few days later uploaded another feed because I added products but forgot to delete sold items, will they consider it a dead link to the sold item and reject the upload ?? The item still shows in my catalog in the admin section because I'm still waiting for the payment to clear, but the item doesnt show up in the store category because its sold out ?? I was just wondering if I should delete that item from my feed and reupload the feed to Froogle or should it be alright the way it is. Thanks and have a good day, Linda
altDev
Linda, This is a tough couple of questions. First, froogle basicly uses a spreadsheet of your products and calls to that feed everytime a search has a revelent keyword. So, everytime you upload your feed it gets reviewed and bumps off the prevoius feed. This would eliminate any dead links. Now, the best thing to do is install this, Froogle Auto Feed Contribution. This sets up a feed and uses a cron job to auto submit the new feed daily to froogle. This keeps up on any changes from your store. I am not sure about the back linking, you may want to email google about that. Now Froogle is only concerned with active products, so using the mod to make it automated is a great way to be sure that all your in stock products are showing whithin the results. Hope this helps. ~James James Scheller

I have someone who does them for me, but its his business and he does an awesome job, but I cant afford anymore programming for now. So I guess I'll just keep doing it by hand it isnt that bad right now. And if I start making enough sales where it would be worth the contribution, then hopefully because there are sales, I'll be able to afford the additional work. Thanks, Linda
altDev
Linda, We have been listed in Froogle for a couple of months and are atop of all of our keywords and we only get about 1-2% of our customers directed from Froogle. Yet, Froogle will be a great way to get traffic in the coming years, so keep on it, it will pay off eventually :) James Scheller
x4ntos
I think, that google even includes in their's policy, that being listed in froogle or not doesn't affect Your SERP at all, so I don't think, that position on froogle are considered as IBL ( incoming back link ) to your site. However, I have a problem to get froogle feeds working for me correctly. I submited to froogle a feed generated by some contribution, don't remember it's name now... but the links to my products this contib. weren't correct. I'm using seo URLS with rewrite soo all my products are lik some-cool-product.html ( very helpful in SEO'ing ) and that generator send feed with unoptimized addresses. I don't know how did it happened, but - my froogle feed has status - unaproved to go live and all my products are listed in froogle :o With good pictures but links directing to www.mywebsite.com/products=id? Heh weird, but customers are visitng my web from froogle :)
Chance
Thats because your old feed upload is valid for 30 days per the Froogle TOS. When your old feed expires you will no longer have listings. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you.
