Install Step 2 failure complete page not rendering

My setup is failing at step 2. When I complete the form asking for database, username, etc... I hit the continue button and only a small portion of the page will load at the top. I cannot view anything below the second line.

That is pretty wierd. Maybe its hanging on database access? Perhaps check the existence of database/userid before installing (e.g. via phpMyAdmin).

 

I verified that user can log in to my db with assigned passwd via the mysql commands. I increased my php.ini directive allowing 16MB of resources. No improvment.

I had the same problem yesterday...

 

What version of php are you using?

Because I had installed php 5 and read somewhere that the current osCommerce version isn't very compatible and we should use it with php 4. I downgraded my php and didn't get this problem anymore.

 

Maybe it can be your problem too...
