emailanj
the knowledge base <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Middle Thanks for your response. I have been to the knowledge base many times...but for a newbie like me, with no knowledge of PHP code or things of that nature, I am finding it complex and hard to understand. It seems like this OScommerce is made for the more advanced user but I would like to give it my best shot before I throw in the towel. Possibly, do you know of any simple books or websites with easy to understand wording? Thanks, anj
emailanj
I just wanted to say I did find a good site for OS Commerce easy step by step Books and info. I posted it, just to let others like myself (newbie) know about it but my whole post got deleted. I am sorry if I recommended something that I should not have shared on this site. I have been to the knowledge base many times over almost 7weeks and have been so confused at times. Sence I have found the information this morning I have almost completed my site all by my self and have even been able to make some sence of the coding. I am able to change the look of my site and all of the wording easily. I had no idea how easy it really was. All I want to say without getting this post deleted is that there is material out there if you look hard enogh that really puts light on Os Commerce for us newbies so don't give up and it may not hurt to do a web search. Only down fall is you do have to pay a fee for the material I found but compared to how much time you save I feel it is well worth it and its not a big fee. Anj Middle Thanks for your response. GraphicsGuy
Yeah. My reply with a book reccomendation got deleted too. Like you, I didn't intend any offense. I just thought that since documentation for MS2.2 was taken down a few months ago that it wouldn't hurt anything to point new users to a book on the topic. Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1. I feel like today is a revolution for myself. All I can say is newbies do a search and I do not mind telling you a name through a PM. As long as I do not get told not too and every one is clear I am not affiliated with the book at all. I just want to save others weeks of frustration. May be GraphicsGuy will tell you his book name too? Anj
