osCommerce

The e-commerce.

My first site

Hello, this is my first website (rookie here) and I would just like some general feedback on the functionality of the site. Anything would probably be helpful. I already know my site does not steer far from a stock osCommerce site so please don't critize me too much on that unless there is some easy things I could change that would make it look and feel better. I also know that there is not a ton of products, but that is just because I'm still working on the layout for now and making sure everything is working ok. So anyways here it is: My Site

Thanks, Correy.

Stock store, I know you pointed that out in your post, but what do you want me to review? There are over 60,000 ways to make your store look. And stock just isn't a good one!

You have clipart in your header, and it makes your store look like you should be selling comics rather than serious yachtman supplies!

No offence but those colours are horrible and I can't imaging them sending your customers into a buying frenzy.

You have a string theme (pimp) so use that to your advantage and come up with a colour scheme and graphics to match. Make your customer feel welcome and make them feel the site lives the pimp dream. Take your customer on an experience...

ya! try mixing 2 hues and white and black. The first hue (like dark purply red) with 3 variations of brightness. The other hue directly across the color wheel use as an accent or highlight (like Gold). Then use white as your background to keep it clean. Black for the text to read easy on the white.

So youll have 6 colors total. The three purply ones will look like they go together (use the HSB values in photshop to just adjust the S or B but not the H). The gold will pop and look sweet if used in moderation. Black and white.

Find a whipin font for your logo. look at houseindustries for ideas. the stick with a sans-serif live font for your content area.

Ya dude!

Sorry but having read some of these here i probably got a bit vicious...

Honestly though stock OSC is really poor, and people just wont buy, you need something that uses OSCs good bits but avoids all the standard setup, at worst get some of the blank templates and play with them....
