rommany
Hi Guys I would like to remove the oscSID from my site, ive seen a post here how to do it some months ago but can not find it now.. I have heard this will make the site better for SEO but not 100% that is true, if anyone has info on this i would be grateful.. Im a little feed up with my site, i have used a tool called IBP ( internet business promoter) anyone heard or used it?. Well when i have checked my site with yahoo, msn.com and google with the top 10 sites optimizer tool in all three i have beaten all of them for the number one postion, i have good content and some good links pointing to my site Eg Dmoz,yahoo.com dir and msn dir and most of the top directories out there, i also have done everything i can think off, header cont and chemos cont but im still not in the top 10,000 and have a silly PR3 and things do not look like getting better soon. I know some say it takes time but i have worked on my site 8 hrs per day for over 6 mts and nothing works, so i feel like im banging my head into a brick wall ( time to get drunk and wash all my worries away  )... Oh well thats my moan over :( Kind regards

I haven't got rid of the oscSID by turning cookie off, but do use the spiders contribution, so the SE don't get them. Make sure you have some 404 contribution installed for your missing links, if you do change to rewrite. Good luck Sean.
rommany
Thanks Sean I turned it over to rewrite and the site looked fine but when i clicked on the catagories i have a blank page/ refresh page coming up, is that what u mean by 404 ? and if so how would i fix that... and what is the 404 contribution for ? i have added my site to the 404.php so it points back to my site, but im not sure if that what you are talking about.. i added the spiders contribution as well, how would this stop the SE getting them. even after 6 mts im still a numb head ~: ) Kind regards

That not what I meant by 404. Have a look at the forum for seo url, bet someone had that problem, as I don't know if your using a temple STS,BTS or the normal stuff. The 404 is the page that comes up on your site to say the page is not found, it looks horrid, unless you custmise it, hense the contribution. Thinking about it you do not need it going from CNAME to Rewrite, but would be worth considing later. Sean P.S If you got Caching on, if so get it to delete the old cache and regenerate fresh pages.
