It would not mean a reinstall, but ti would mean switching your website from Name Based to IP Based (for a full ssl cert), and the purchase and install of a full ssl cert. Unless you're prepared to pay the startup and running costs of HSBC or Barclays payment systems ?200-250 + vat one-off set up fee plus ?20-25 a month +vat running fee each month, then stick with Pay Pal.

You would have to use at least a shared ssl, because otherwise no one will trust you with their details.

With worldpay you do get them all and you do not necesserely need ssl....

I have setup several sites without ssl which do very good in sales too........

(Even though its better to have ssl to ease your customers minds)

And if you choose to go for ssl , you do not need to reinstall to use ssl, you just need to change 2 files...

(Ofcourse you also need a dedicated ip address and a ssl certficate)

includes/configure.php

and

admin/includes/configure.php

You might also consider getting a merchant account in your local business bank and use it together with the protx gateway..... (For this you do need ssl)

i almost forgot, you also have: nochex

Paypal - I dont like the fact that you have to force customers to join them, booo.

nochex - I think begin charging you after 100 pounds for non-members, booo.

so its looking like a payment gateway in a website transfer style ie checkout sends you to payment gateway. Does worldpay do this and accept switch/maestro ?

or

SSL'd up and a merchant account with my bank of which I will need a paymetn module and figure out protx gateway(which I presume will be on the forum somewhere ?)

Well, i belive paypal now offers the posibilety to pay by credit card without signing up in the uk too.... (Even though the button is fairly hidden on the payment page at paypal)

Worldpay offers you 2 integration ways:

1. The customers is sent to their ssl secured website to finalize the payment.

Ther exist a module for this metode for oscommerce in the contribution section.

2. The customer inputs the payment details on your site, this metode requires ssl and there is no ready made module for oscommerce available.

A merchant account and protex , gives you payment on your site, requires ssl and there is a ready made module for oscommerce in the contribution section.

3. You might also go for the HSBC solution, a merchant account at hsbc and use the HSBC e-secure payment gateway, requires ssl and there are a ready made module for oscommerce in the contribution section.

4. You might also go for the Barclay solution, a merchant account at Barclay and use the EPDQ payment gateway, requires ssl and there are a ready made module for oscommerce in the contribution section.
