Cannot write to database

Recommended Posts

Using a fresh install of 2.2.2, I am able to visit the admin area, and see the default 'sample'values... but I cannot change those values. When I try, the page refreshes with the just-changed formfield now in a blank state. Seems that my update of the db is only partially successful... I can get to the db, remove the old data, but not add data.

I have searched both here and in the install forum, and have not found this issue discussed... does that mean I win a prize? ;-)

Anyhow.. if there are any clues, I would sure like to hear about them!

(Yes, I posted this yesterday as well, but it seems I may have been unclear in my writing, so I thought I might try again. Hope that isn't overly sacriligeous...)

Well, here's a clue: set up the admin config.php file correctly. had my buddy Richard at GoliveHost take a look at things (I suspected permissions on the server) and he found that I had done 'url' rather than 'filepath' a few times. My bad.

Leads to a question, tho: why does the installer take care of the /catalog/ config.php file, but not the /catalog/admin/ config.php file?

(cross-posted to 'general' list as well)
