"Main categories in front page" mini bug and

I would like a contribution how this

"Main categories in front page" but where I can admin parameter by admin panel

(i.e. a small description under the title or picture, number columns. subcategory etc..)

 

Moreover:

THe box CAtegories work but remain above the text 'What's New Here?';

this isn't correct; ok I can resolve if I in the page index.php

I delete this <td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>

 

but after I cannot more see the heading of all the other box;
