Back Up Error Msg

Hi there,

If anyone can help. I am new to Oscommerce, forums & general web etiquette. Just had someone working for me who's fading, so am working on my site myself....

 

I went to back up my catalog directory and got this error msg:

Back up directory does not exist. Please set up in configure php

 

I found configure.php in the file manager, but can someone please tell me what code I need to put here. Am afraid I'll muck it up (and certainly much more if I don't get this thing backed up).

 

 

Also, was reading in the documentation re: post-installation that I need to secure my catalog. I have password protected my catalog/admin file, but am afraid to delete the catalog/instal file as the document suggests (there isn't much else explained there). And wherever does one change the permissions? It just says to do it.

 

Any help ever so greatly appreciated.
