No format changes or anything? I have another machine that is a PC that I can use for that. yup, it's as simple as that. you don't have to switch machines if you use the freeware to open and save it as Unix. In your Ep Manual for your current EP version I have read it in full including the install manual. Item 5 says to contact your host to find out what the maximum upload size for your php environment is and the length of time the script is allowed to run. I asked them and they referred me to this page. Here are the details but it is confusing as some items are similar in name and size so I wanted to know if you or someone on the forum could clarify so when I set up EP.php I could set them correct as suggested by your documentation. It says max_execution_time 45 but it also says max_input_time 60 So which is the answer to your question on length of time the script is allowed to run? It says post_max_size 32M but it also says upload_max_filesize 24M but I have a feeling we are going with the 24M with the Maximum allowed upload size for your php environment. I know Surfalot is busy and if anyone else can answer this great that saves him time to concentrate on other things I would greatly appreciate the clarification as my hosting site could not do so. If you see any other things that are strange in what I have posted that pertain to my setup of EP from Surfalot please advise as I will next be going through the full setup of EP.php from the manual and may have further question for clarification purposes and I do use the forum search but it does not alway render and answer that is either clear or specific to my direct question that allows me to proceed without caution. What is the size of the file? Ask your host what the max PHP file upload and/or max PHP post size on your web space is. with that number of products, I hope your database is a localhost database. Thanks for the fast reply. That's exactly what I did. The overall file is a little over 14mb. I broke the files into about 2500 products and everything goes smooth. So, your theory about the about the file upload max may be true. When I talked to my host they told me that I could adjust any limitations on file uploads adjusting the max upload variables php.ini and copy it to every directory that EP exist in. In this case, it is only the admin directory. When I checked the php.ini file in the admin directory, the max upload variable was set at an amazing 2MBs! So, I adjusted it to a reasonable number. While I was making adjustments, I also adjusted the memory that a script may consume and the server timeouts to 600. At the moment, I don't have the time to tell you the results of the adjustments. Leon wow, now here's someone that covers the bases before diving in. As long as your host pointed out what their default limits are and how to setup the php.ini and what to put in it, they have done their job. But only then should they point you here. Just wanted to clarify their expected participation level. the preceding quote clip has the only settings you should be concerned with for your php.ini. you shouldn't be concerned with max_input_time. adjust the settings as needed for your import file. the difference between localhost database and remote database can be hundreds more products processed per minute with a localhost database. Forgive me for my ignorance, I insert info in cell, save as csv file I guess there is something else I am suppose to do I am just not sure what it is, I look at the sample output info and they look the same. It says to post a LINK to your upload file (hosted somewhere at your site or elsewhere). Please don't add your data to the post, the board changes the data before we see it. And secondly to be kind to Harold (who is paying to host this free resource) so that you import data isn't bloating the forum database, popping up in searches, etc.. you also don't need to put your EP output or settings in a forum codebox since neither is code. If you would, please post a link to the data file (or portion of) you are trying to import. geoffreywalton, this version of EP doesn't care what the EP separator setting is on import. It will determine the file type and import it accordingly. The separator setting is for output only. The only reason I put that info in a code box was to save space, I would have just put a link, but was unsure of process to do so, Thank you for your help, the problem was in headings, there was no v_products_1 it started at v_products_2 so it never began process.
