Guest Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Im having a problem uploading Model/Price/Qty txt files after they are downloaded with EasyPopulate in the first place. I make 1 change to a price to see if it works and it doesnt change anything... Here's the error:I have a few mods installed including Some 6 image mod with htmlarea, Linkmatics Attribute Sets, Who's Online Enhancement, Skype Us mod, CVV mod, plus a couple of others that i cant remember right now... Anyone got any ideas? It's not tab based, not eoreor based, not permissions based or any of those other simple solutions... would a Windows Server be at fault here? Im so sick of them now, im changing to Linux at the next problem that arises... in your EP file, search for the line were there is the INSERT there is a problem next to your product_image_med: there is a double quote missing. check also next to the product model, there is probably a quote missing. here is how the match between the fields and values looks like when itemized FIELDS products_image products_image_med products_image_lrg products_image_sm_1 products_image_xl_1 products_image_sm_2 products_image_xl_2 products_image_sm_3 products_image_xl_3 products_image_sm_4 products_image_xl_4 products_image_sm_5 products_image_xl_5 products_image_sm_6 products_image_xl_6 products_model products_price products_status products_last_modified products_date_added products_date_available products_tax_class_id products_weight products_quantity manufacturers_id) VALUE '' " "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" " '111113' '10.95' '1' CURRENT_TIMESTAMP CURRENT_TIMESTAMP NULL '' '' '1000' 'NULL') Quote
ComicWisdom Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I am trying out the Easy Populate Contribution. In fact, I setup a test site specifially for this, and I am only using the products in the default store. When I download to my local computer it works great. However, after making a few changes in the file on my computer (I changed a couple of movie names and a model number), the changes don't upload. I DO NOT get an error message. It looks like it works fine. If I go into oscommerce calalog and make changes, again, they download fine. It's just no upload changes show up. Any ideas what I did wrong. Guest Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 there we go look for global $separator; if (EP_DELIMITER == '\t') { $separator = "\t"; // oscommerce stores escaped delimeters in mySQL as a string and not an actual tab. } else { $separator = EP_DELIMITER; } and replace it by: global $separator; $separator = "\t"; // oscommerce stores escaped delimeters in mySQL as a string and not an actual tab. that should do it Quote
ComicWisdom Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Thank you, that came down absolutely perfect and I didn't have to replace EP_DELIMITER. Trying to upload changes .... I am going from temp directory... I get the following error: User filename: EP2006Sep18-1806.txt Warning: file(/hsphere/local/home/netkraft/shelburnefallsdelivers.com/EP_TEMP_DIREP2006Sep18-1806.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hsphere/local/home/netkraft/shelburnefallsdelivers.com/admin/easypopulate.php on line 732 Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /hsphere/local/home/netkraft/shelburnefallsdelivers.com/admin/easypopulate.php on line 7 The temp directory is there. It looks like you haven't installed your language files correctly (and that would make sense because what I did with your previous post was just a dirty fix - not calling the language file) but this time, you will have to go back to the install instructions and check that you have installed the easypopulate.php language file in the admin section and not the catalog section (common mistake) if the installation instructions don;t mention a language file, then just add to your admin>includes>english.php the following, before the last ?> define ('EP_TEMP_DIR', 'temp'); where temp is the exact name of your directory Edited September 19, 2006 by pixclinic Quote
JoeR Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 This just worked for me (using EP2.75a). Just thought I say thanks and give it a bump. This thread is huge. I was having the same problem and found it was because I was running PHP version 5.. I found this FIX in this topic but not really talked about a lot it worked for me!First check to see what version of PHP 5 you are running. If you're not sure, go to admin > tools > server info ...php version # will be at the top. I suspect it's PHP5. IF THAT IS THE CASE, In your easypopulate.php file Find array_walk($readed, 'walk'); replace with this //array_walk($readed, 'walk'); foreach ($readed as $readed_record) { walk($readed_record); } If it's NOT php5, don't change anything at this point. I really can't rember who the post came from because I have been working on this site for two weeks straight with VARY little sleep! Sorry ADAM Quote
Guest Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Right here we go! Apologies if this solution is somewhere in the 'easypopulate thread' but i have trawled it and can't find a thing. I'm using EP 2.76 - i've installed it with no errors. I have a temp directory with all the relevant permissions (777). When i go to admin and try to download an EP file like 'Download Complete tab-delimited .txt file to edit' i get nothing - in fact i get nothing from any of the download links. No errors - nothing. I've tried uploading the sample file but i get nothing again (no errors) - the page just refreshes. I'm obviously missing something simple but i can't for the life of me work out what it is. Can anyone help - it's driving me mad. Many thanks Mike Quote
Guest Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 BTW if there is an EP version that is totally stable - let me know thnx Mike Quote

SeanC391 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I am also having the exact same problem of nothing happening when trying to use easy populate. I have read previous posts and made all the changes I could find. I am using WAMP5 under WindowsXP. I did make the PHP5 changes mentioned in the easypopulate.php file. Is anyone else having this problem using WAMP5 for Apache, MySQL and PHP? Here is the top part of the configure.php. This is on a local machine. // Define the webserver and path parameters // * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical) // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', ''); define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false'); // secure webserver for catalog module define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', $DOCUMENT_ROOT); // where the pages are located on the server define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/'); // absolute path required define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_ADMIN); // absolute pate required define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); // absolute path required define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_CATALOG); // absolute path required define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); .................. DB server is set to 'localhost' Thanks Quote

I haven't tried to upload yet..but I can't download from any of the links, it just refreshes the page. I even turned off attributes (code below) even though I use QT PRO because someone on here said attributes might be the problem. I have almost 200 products in my store. // change this to false, if do not want to download product attributes global $products_with_attributes; $products_with_attributes = false; // change this to true, if you use QTYpro and want to set attributes stock with EP. global $products_attributes_stock; $products_attributes_stock = false; Quote
SeanC391 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I'm thinking this has to do with the temp directory variables if using oscommece on a local machine. In a book on oscommerce, the author says he had to change the temp directory to "temp/"; (removed leading forward slash), in order to get easypopulate to work for him. I've tried a number of changes to the temp variable with no luck. I'm curious if the variable $DOCUMENT_ROOT should be used in configure.php if testing on a local machine. If anyone has had luck with easypopulate using PHP5 on a local machine, please post your configure.php file and let us know if you made changes to the default temp variable. Thanks Quote
Brown Knight Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 i always use $DOCUMENT_ROOT, without knowing the full path makes it tough to say what to do. Quote
SeanC391 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 The full path on my local mahine is C:\wamp\www\catalog\temp. Thank You Quote
zondo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hi All, I'm running the EP 2.76c. It works great except for it places the price in the wrong field. It places into the Gross field and not the Net. Have I done something wrong or is this a known issue thanx Quote
