Help!! Parse Error...

Hi, I'm trying to change my home page in Oscommerse. I tried to delete the text that was there and add my own. Something happened and I got this error.

 

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/thenewag/public_html/osCommerce/catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 13

 

I've copied and pasted the original back into the file but I keep getting the same error message. I've tried numerous things to get this file to work. I even downloaded another Oscommerce and tried to copy the index.php file from the second version to the first but it didn't show up. I have Ipower web as my host and I am using Vdeck. I called them the other day and they are useless.

 

I copied the original file into a word document to save it and then recopied from there. Maybe that is the problem?? This is really frustrating and time consuming. This is the origninal code that I am trying to repast back into the file. Is there something wrong with it? Thanks!! Cindy

Your original use of the osc File Manger Edit (don't use it it has a bug), stripped away the escape characters (what\'s) before the 's.

 

You'll need to get an original copy of the index.php and start over again by editing locally and then ftp to your site. I don't know about MS word and .php files but you might want to consider a free php editor (search the net) for one that gives you a color GUI.
