DjSap
I'm looking to start an online store using osCommerce as my shopping cart, what I am wondering is what company I should use for the payment processing. I'm looking to mainly credit cards, don't really care about checks. I have had experiences with paypal and although paypal pro seems quite good it is only available for US residents. So the main disadvantage with paypal is that it requires registration. I have looked into worldpay and they seem ok, although I would prefer to find somebody cheaper. Also discovered 2checkout and although their % fees are higher the lack of fixed monthly or yearly fees is a big plus. I am just wondering if there are any other good payment processing companies I have overlooked?
m3aN_
If anyone could offer some advice to this question I would be very grateful as well, as I just registered to ask exactly the same thing. I live in the UK and therefore cannot use PayPal WPP (which is annoying as its ideal for what I need). Basically I want to know the best value for money credit/debit card processing solution for a site with not a massive amount of transactions a month. Also if anyone has any advice on good merchant accounts in the UK, that would be helpful as well. Thanks. julbukki
Iam strugling with same issues here too. Iam in Europe also. So far what i found out PayPal may be a good choice. I have been trying to implement PayPal IPN and iam currently using Sandbox mode. It says (and i have purchased myself) in paypal pages that there should be possible to pay with credit card without creating account in paypal. So i know that tis there but i havent got it out yet. So i think that it should be also in standard mode which we have to here in Europe to satisfy. Also i have some stange amounts passing so that when i leave oscommerce i might have total 8?. In paypal it says 4 ? + 3 ? postage but yet in total it says 8?. And also in oscommerce it says 8?. So for me anyway its not easy job but might be the case for you. I also have some Tax calculating issues in OSC so its not that simply as they say. Good luck!
irynet
Just wanted to add a little note to all non US paypal account holders. Just spoke to a guy at paypal and he informs me that within the next couple of months WPP (website payment pro) will be available for Canada and UK. If I hear anything more I shall post again........
