Setting Default Weight

I'm trying to set the default weight units for my site, but what I see in my control screen for 2.2 MS2 is different from the help results. The option is not where it should be on my setup. Is there somewhere else I can go to adjust it to kilograms?

The weight in osCommerce is "unitless". In other words, you can make it anything as long as you keep it constant throughout. So, in your case, just key in all values in kg.

Hi,

I'm not really sure I understand your question but here goes.

Ok in osC Administration > Configuration > Shipping / Packaging

You have this:

Shipping/Packaging

Country of Origin Your Home Country

Postal Code Yours if you want to put or leave blank

Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 50 Kilos

Package Tare weight. 3 Kilos

Larger packages - percentage increase. 10 For 10% enter 10

In the weight boxes these are generic just type the weight you want to use after the number value i.e. 3 Kilo, 3 LBS, 3 Grammes, 3 Tonnes or whatever.

I think the one that you saw in the knowledge base is a previouse version:

Ok I've just searched the contributions and knowledge base found this maybe it will suit your needs have a read:

more_product_weight/readme.html

This is the link for the contribution to the above:

contributions/search,weight

I hope it's helpful.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

No, actually it's MS3 which hasn't been released yet. They've changed the Knowledge Base over to MS3 even though MS3 hasn't been released - and it's causing no end of confusion.

Oh right well that's answered that for me.

Thanks, Rhea.

Kind Regards,

Michelle.
