ttdaven
The server that I am running my oscommerce shopping cart on has a shared ssl certificate. The certificate is at secure.powweb.com. my shopping cart is at www.bladerunnerenterprises.com/osCommerce/catalog. The problem that I am having is this. Anytime someone goes to checkout from my site a security alert pops up saying that the name on the certificate does not match tthe name on the site. Is there any way that this can be fixed and how? countrystyle
What otacon221 is getting at is... You are securing your site by using a certificate purchased for secure.powweb.com When your customers checkout the cert. is check and your site doesn't match the owner of the cert. I assume you are hosted by powweb.com? Ask them about the proper way to use their shared cert. It is probably something like... https://www.powweb.com/~YOUR_USERNAME/osCommerce They'll give you the info you need.
otacon221
Yes exactly. The certificate has to match your domain. Even if you buy it for http://www.test.com then it won't match http://test.com
