Guest
Hi, I have a problem with my login. When I log into admin, it goes to the admin menu screen as normal, however, every link I click on takes me back to the logon.php page again. I log in again, and it goes back to the menue. Click on a link, then back to logon.php page again. Anyone know what might be the problem here? Thanks

Guest
Well, I use my own shared SSL I have set up for my hostgator reseller account. It does not work with the shared SSL but it works without it. Another problem I am having is that my site is not loading in at all (the catalog side). Just "Page cannot be found for all my catalog pages. I wonder if they have related causes? Guest
Please, can anyone help me on this issue. The only way I can access admin without getting routed back to the login screen is to not use my Shared SSL and to jsut access it via my non-secure domain. THis is not problem for now, but ultimately I must find a fix for this. I have tried configuring my admin/includes/configure.php as many ways as I can think of with no luck. I have been at this for a total of 5 days now and I have not gotten anywhere. Anyone?
♥Vger
They sound as though they are the same problem. You will get an error when trying to Login or Create an account with ssl enabled if the ssl is not set up correctly. If you are trying to put all of your admin behind ssl then you would get the problems you're having with accessing admin - again because ssl is not set up correctly. You should be aware that some shared ssl's are exceedingly difficult to set up - and I know of at least one company whose shared ssl will not work at all with osCommerce. Guest
Here are some things you may need to know... 1. This is my own shared SSL on my own reseller account that I use for all my sties. 2. The shared SSL works fine on the shop side, jsut not on the admin side. 3. The OSC store I am using is one that I moved from my old host, and it worked fine there. I must use this store and not a new install because I have some 30+ contribs that I need/want in my store. 4. The new host also has Fantastico. I installed a test store via Fantastico and the shared SSL works fine on both the shop and admin sides. I have tried configuring my admin/includes/configure.php file for MY OSC store JUST like the one that Fantastico sets up, but it's not use. 5. One thing I noticed between when it works with my shared SSL on the test store and when it does not with mu moved store, is that on the login page for admin, you have an OSCAdminIS sesion ID in the URL. This is the case for both the working and on-working incidences. However, the difference is this... - When the shared SSL/admin is working properly ther eare no session IDs at all after you log in and click on an admin catalog item. - When the shared SSL/admin is NOT working properly, EVERY admin catalog item link has a different session ID in the link, so naturally, it loses it's information and redirects you to the login screen. Given this last thing, it appears that it may be a session ID problem but i cannot for the life of me figure it out. Perhaps it is a cookie problem. I jus tdon;t know, but it sure looks like a session ID problem. However, like I said, the problem only happens when using shared SSL in admin. Thanks for the replies and please let me know if you need anymore info than what I have given.
Guest
Since I cannot edit my post (why, I do not understand) I'll just say this... THIS POST IS OF NO IMPORTANCE TO THE ISSUE AST HAND. It's jsut meant for mods to read. I mentioned that I have a reseller account BUT I DO NOT RESELL HOSTING SO PLEASE DO NOT ERASE THIS THREAD, ADMIN. ALSO, DO NOT CONTACT ME TO BUY HOSTING, PEOPLE, AS YOU WOULD NEVER WANT ME AS A HOST ANYWAY, LOL! I WILL NEVER ANSWER YOUR TROUBLE TICKETS, LOL! Nor do I care to be a webhost. I had to mention that I had a reseller account simply because i needed to convey the situation with my shared SSL better. If you read the posts, this is obvious. Besides, if I was loooking for business, I would not post here annonymously. bt apparently some of the mods don;t see it that way.
♥Vger
As you are using a shared ssl - have you got 'Force Cookie Use' set to 'true' in your osC admin panel under Configuration --> Sessions? If you have then you need to set it to 'false' as this feature will not work when using a shared ssl - only when using no ssl at all or when using a full ssl cert. Guest
OK. Just a little update here. I decided to try and install the store on my main domain. The reason is because sine the main domain is the one that actually has the SSL cert, I would not have to use shared SSL for my SSL pages. I just wanted to see if it would work and it does. So, my problem is not solved but at least now I think it is safe to conclude that it is the shared SSL causing hte problem in my admin (but not in my catalog weirdly enough). I will be contacting my host about this first. In the meantime, if anyone knows why this is happening, I'd appreciate your input as I'm not too sure my host will help me diagnose and fix this problem, if in fact it can be fixed. So to update the problem - in a nutshell: 1. I cannot use my admin area while using shared SSL. 2. I can log in to admin but once I click on any admin links on the admin catalog page, I get redirected to the login screen. 3. The only way to use the admin is non-securely or with a full SSL cert. So since it seems I have narrowed it down a bit, I hope I can get more folks to help out here. Surely someone has had this problem before.
