Groshko
Hi Gang, Very new to this. Just wondering how to password protect my admin folder. i am using a web servive that uses Ensim Pro 4.0.3-22.rhel.3ES not cpanel. Because i installed it myself, i don't see any option for passwords in the control panel. My web service claims that there is an option, but only when you purchase oscommerce through them. and is it possile to password protect a folder using something like cuteFTP. Thanks in advance Groshko. :D
Wendy James
Not sure on how your control panel works but many of them come with a password protect a directory link... if you have that, you can passowrd protect the admin that way. Otherwise you can make an htaccess and htpassword file. I have used www.ilovejackdaniels.com/apache/password-protect-a-directory-with-htaccess/ to get the right codes. it works well. There are also contributions you could install http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3006 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3062 Couple of others but they do much more than you probably need.
