What kind of maintenance do you do?

I'm curious what general maintenance, if any, you guys are doing on your site?

Monthly routines?

MySQL maintenance? Optimizing tables? Flush tables?

Backups? How frequently?

Routine checkups? Balancing orders?

Daily reports? What do you look for?

I realize this could be pretty general, but I'd like to get an idea what some others are doing to keep their site running smoothly...

or are you the "put it up and leave it be" type of person? ;)

ok, here we go.

At least three times daily - check site for orders, maintain existing/progressing orders, stats etc.

Daily - add new products, check osc for new/updated contribs that may improve the experience for my target audience.

Weekly - Optimize tables, backup entire database, submit feed to froogle (and others), update Google sitemap.

Fortnightly - Check keyword metrics on main search engines for my main keywords.

Monthly - Have a day off ;)

Thats me, but I honestly believ if you just put an osc store live and then leave it alone, you will get very few repeat orders - you are offering nothing new or exciting to previous customers, so you must make certain that you are always updating and keeping one eye on the competition to see what seems to be working, and what to avoid.

Enjoy!

Please note - if I have suggested a contrib above, it doesnt mean it will work! Most of the contribs are not ones I've used, but may be useful for your particular problem....

Have you tried a refined search? Chances are your problem has already been dealt with elsewhere on the forums.....

if (stumped == true) {

return(square_one($start_over)

} else {

$random_query = tep_fetch_answer($forum_query)

}

As you would do for any retail venture web based or otherwise
