Sommer
I just phoned Paypal and they claim as of 4 days ago, Paypal's Pro is now OS friendly. I am wondering if anyone else has heard this information. Thanks. Sommer

Guest
have you tried downloading it and programming it to see if it works? and is it posted on their web site?
Sommer
Mibble, No, I have not. I am a bit leary because it is not on their web site yet. The salesperson to whom I spoke wanted me to "immediately" upgrade my Paypal account. RED LIGHT. If you are familiar with Paypal pro, how difficult will it be for me, a newbie, to "program it?" Thanks. Sommer
Guest
easy. dont upgrade to anything which is not listed on their site. my personal preference is to have someone use authorizenet, cambist, etc and not paypal Edited July 20, 2005 by Mibble

Thanks.Sommer <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was just on their site and I did see an option for Websites Payment Pro. This gives you the flexibility to appear to process your own cards and also have paypal members continue to pay through them if they don't want to fork over the info. From what I read (briefly) this plan also provides you with a "Virtual" terminal which allows you to process charges by phone, fax, email, offline sales, etc. which is not available with their regular plans. At the bottom of the comparison chart, there was a row that talked about technical skills, time needed to apply, time needed to setup and approval time. I'm not sure what all of this is for (could just be installation and activiation time, but approval time sounds to me like you can be turned down for this feature, but I'm not sure). You can review all of the plans features here: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cm...file-comparison Like all other options in your business, it's a personal choice if this is right for you. I did notice that they have waived their $20 monthly fee until October, so if you can get it working, you might want to give it a shot for a few months and see how you like it. If you decide it's not for you, cancel and go back to your regular plan before they start charging the montly fees again. Of course, there is still the % rate per charge and their 30 cent fee as usual, but you'll get that with other payment processors too. Best of Luck! Thanks.Sommer <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was just reading throught the rest of the payment modules thread and came across this: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=155939 I've only started to read this thread, but it's about the new payment system and the request for a module for it. This may help you with your decision. Just thought you'd like the extra information. AJ :)
