Database Issue

Hi,

I am in the process of moving my store to another hosting service as the host I have works in 'safe' mode and it's screwing things up. The former hosting service is still fully active as I don't want to move the entire website for now. I've done all the inital OSCommerce setup- copied all files from the other server to my computer then uploaded to new site, however not being a PHP whiz I can't think of how to point to the existing database (still on the original site) or how to set up a database that will retain all of the information (and not screw things up completely) for use the new site. Is there anyone that can help me sort this out? :blink:
