Guest
Currently have a live site and am in the process of installing new payment mods etc that will need thorough testing before going "live" Is it better/easier/more efficient to build a protected 'test' folder (ie shop.com/test/) or use a subdomain (ie test.shop.com ..) for a "test site"- either way I know I'll need to build test versions of configuration tables, configure.php etc ? Suggestions on best approach ? Thanks
seank123
All I did was add another folder - called test and a new database (also called test). Once you have the new database set up export your live site database and import it into the new database, all you then need to do is copy the site files into the new folder and change the 2 config.php files. I would go with the subdomain.
